Amanda is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with 3 years experience in the behavioral health field. She works with clients and families of all ages and backgrounds. Amanda focuses on trauma, play therapy, theraplay, foster care, and adoption. Her previous work as a case manger for a private agency affiliated with DCFS and a Social-Emotional Therapist for Early Intervention has allowed her to grow and strengthen her capabilities in order to achieve the best outcome for all she treats. Amanda focuses on creating a strong client-counselor relationship to build trust and comfort in her sessions. She takes pride in her openness to accept others and learn from every situation. Amanda uses multiple modalities, including art, music, books, and games to create a well rounded experience for each client. Amanda attended Northern Illinois University earning a Master of Science degree in Education and has received a Trauma-Informed Certificate through the NIU counseling program.

Amanda has lived in the northern Illinois region her entire life. Amanda loves spending time with her family, time outdoors, and her dog baby Darla. She has been around children throughout her life as a big sister, case worker, counselor, and now as a new mother. She loves to explore the interests of the children she spends time with and being able to engage with them.

Amanda loves hiking, kayaking, and exploring new places. She also enjoys a variety of music, enjoying new foods, learning new dance moves, and playing video games. She also likes to watch anime. Amanda’s goal is to become a registered play therapy and complete her certification in Theraplay.
