Kerstin Rewerts is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) who earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Aurora University and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University.
Kerstin enjoys working with clients across the lifespan, with the most experience supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. She works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem concerns, relationship and attachment challenges, and neurodivergence, and she is committed to providing affirming care for LGBTQ+ clients.
Her therapeutic style is grounded in a person-centered approach and integrates non-directive play therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), experiential, existential, narrative, and strength-based interventions. Kerstin believes healing happens through safe, authentic relationships where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. She strives to create a warm, collaborative environment that celebrates each person's strengths, values, and unique story while supporting meaningful growth and self-acceptance.
Kerstin's passion for counseling began while working at an adolescent residential treatment center after completing her undergraduate degree. Inspired by that experience, she pursued graduate training in clinical mental health counseling. She completed her practicum and internship in a community mental health setting before transitioning to private practice, giving her valuable experience across multiple levels of care.
Outside the therapy room, Kerstin enjoys spending time with her family, friends, her cat Delilah, and her dog Murphy. She loves reading, hiking, visiting National and State Parks, traveling, attending concerts, painting, crocheting, and playing board games and video games. A former theater kid and proud self-proclaimed nerd, she also enjoys musicals, Dungeons & Dragons, Renaissance Faires, and Disney movies. She believes joy, curiosity, kindness, and authenticity are important both in life and in the therapeutic relationship.
