Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (IL), Licensed Professional Counselor (WI & CO), Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, and Nationally Certified Counselor with eleven years of experience in mental health. Michelle specializes in anxiety, trauma (single episode or developmental), ADHD, depression, and personal growth and performance for personal and work life. She approaches her work using Brainspotting and/or Play Therapy modalities as wellas cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused interventions.
Michelle started her career in 2005 working with children from birth to three years old through Early Intervention. She received extensive training from multiple modalities using overall child development, family-centered approaches, and working with other professional teams in the community, medical field, and schools. This provided a basis for her approach in work as seeing the whole-person in order to support mental health and wellbeing. She uses all her resources and experience to enhance each client’s experience and future growth.
Michelle attended Rockford College and National Louis University. She earned a Master Degree in Science-Counseling. She has been a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor since 2015 and became certified in Brainspotting in 2018. She is starting the process of becoming a Brainspotting Consultant. Michelle provides professional ongoing trainings for community partners, Early Intervention providers, and school staff. She has worked within self-contained classrooms to provide direct services and consults to teachers and support staff. She also is excited that Nala, Michelle’s Labradoodle has completed therapy trainings and is able to participate in helping and healing others.
Michelle enjoys spending free time with friends and family, hosting relaxing campfire gatherings, and playing games. She loves Harry Potter and Marvel and looks forward to getting to Disney World some day! As a new business owner and mother to a recent high school graduate she is looking forward to her next steps and adventures.
