Get to know me

Michelle is a dedicated mental health professional with extensive qualifications and a compassionate approach. As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin and Colorado, a Brainspotting Consultant, a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, and a Nationally Certified Counselor, she brings over a decade of expertise to her practice.

 

Specializing in anxiety, trauma, ADHD, depression, personal growth, and performance, Michelle employs various therapeutic modalities, including Brainspotting, Mindfulness, Play Therapy, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused interventions.

 

Michelle's journey began in 2005, working with children and families in Early Intervention. Her comprehensive training in child development, family-centered approaches, and collaboration with professionals in the community, medical field, and schools laid the foundation for her holistic approach to mental health support.

 

Michelle's educational journey reflects her commitment to enhancing mental health care. She earned her undergraduate degree in Science-Counseling from Rockford College and continued her academic pursuit by attaining a master’s degree in Counseling from National Louis University.

 

A Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor since 2015, Michelle furthered her expertise by becoming certified in Brainspotting in 2018 and completing her Consultant Certification in February 2024. Her passion for advancing the field is evident in her active involvement in various training sessions and peer support groups. Michelle takes pride in contributing to the development of professionals, sharing her knowledge, and helping them refine their skills.

 

Beyond her individual practice, Michelle extends her impact through ongoing professional training initiatives. She generously imparts her insights to community partners, Play Therapists, Brainspotting practitioners, Early Intervention providers, and school staff, fostering a collaborative approach to mental health support. Michelle's dedication to education and training embodies her compassionate commitment to empowering others in the community.

 

Outside of her professional endeavors, Michelle finds joy in spending time with friends and family, hosting gatherings, playing games, and indulging in her love for travel and new experiences. Excited about her dogs Nala and Luna, completing therapy training to contribute to healing, Michelle, a business owner, and mother to a recent high school graduate, looks forward to her next steps and adventures.
